Doctors do get discounts for private health care insurance for themselves and their families and have to pay at least four times as much for their private health cover for obvious reasons: it very much depends what cover is provided by insurance. The more comprehensive the cover the more expensive it is. Judging by the amount paid by GMC the insurance cover is rather limited.
Why is it that some doctors are so mean to other people when they earn so much more while GMC staff do not receive large salaries and have to deal every day with unpleasant work? Straining reality into visual cortex, I guess.
